Creating your Own funny team name isn't as hard as it seems. There is a technique that we've developed that is not only effective, it preserves each persons own personal style. In other words, if one person uses this technique for a sport his or her team names will not necessarily be the same as the next person applying the technique for the same sport. We're sure you'll find this method easy and a lot of fun. So let's get started!
Step 1:
Write down 5 or six key words that directly relate to the sport or activity you are trying to create a name for. Let's use bowling, as an example. Keywords for bowling would be: pin, split, spare, gutter and strike.
Step 2:
Now that you have the keywords, you can use any online rhyming dictionary to start finding words that rhyme with each keyword. For the word "gutter" you find the rhyming word "butter". Now that have the word "butter" you need to start thinking of common phrases and saying that use the word "butter". An example of a common phrase is "I can't believe it's not butter." Next you switch the word out with the original word you rhymed it with, which is "gutter". The result is "I can't believe it's not gutter". Genius!
Step 3:
Repeat the process with each rhyme word to each keyword. Admittedly there will be a degree of trail an error before you find the perfect fummy team name. An important thing to remember is to write down ALL the team names you generate, regardless of how funny or not funny they may seem at the moment of creation. Some names take time to sink in. Also, you can run the names by friends to get a consensus of their entertainment value.
